Our Story

Greatview Orchards, known locally as “The Home of Quality”, has been family owned for 51 years. In 1971, Jim and Gail Bokor made the decision to move their family from Caledonia, back to Cedar Springs, Ontario. Jim loved to work with heavy equipment, digging basements and working in gravel pits while Gail was busy in town working at the local bank and grocery store.
When the opportunity to purchase the farm presented itself, Jim and Gail took the opportunity head on. Fueled by pride and determination, Jim and Gail were determined to succeed despite their lack of farming experience. Jim’s work ethic and ability to solve problems along with Gail's ability to manage the books and serve customers was a recipe for success.
When a devastating fire burned their market to the ground, they didn’t think twice about rebuilding another market on #3 Highway, known as Talbot Trail.
After 17 years, it was time for Jim and Gail to switch gears and focus on growing corn and beans as well as operating their gravel business. Their youngest son, Mike, who had worked along side his parents stepped up to the plate with lots of ambition and decided to purchase the farm. In May of 1988, Mike and his wife Cindy were officially the new proud owners.
Together they raised their son and daughter while continuing to grow and operate the family business. In July of 1999, a record breaking hail storm had wiped out every last crop. This brought many challenges and obstacles, but ultimately Mike and Cindy would persevere.
Today, 34 years later, they continue to operate a successful and well respected business still known as Greatview Orchards. Through all of the changes, one thing has remained consistent, serving our community with the freshest and highest quality produce available. Our heart and pride is truly our customers and the community we live in.
We are excited and look forward to continuing to serve our community and expanding our business throughout Southwestern Ontario and having YOU be part of our journey.
